Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Review

Before I left for my Vegas trip in the summer, I decided to purchase the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation because I was intrigued by missglamorazzi's great review and its compact size. I tried it a few times at the counter and fell in love with the scent. However, the price was what stopped me... $45 for 30ml. I finally gave in, and here's my review on the product.

This foundation is not full coverage. It's light, but buildable. It took me a while to get used to its coverage. However, in order to achieve a fuller coverage, more product needs to be applied - money wasted. The texture is an interesting mousse form, you need to shake well before use, or else you'll get that greasy watery liquid. It applies and blends well, not streaky at all which I like, but like I said before, you need to build up the coverage. The product gives a satin / dewy look. At first, I loved the scent, it smells like expensive skincare to me, but after a while, I felt it was too strong of a scent for a foundation.

It has SPF15, my shade is B20.

I feel like this is a good travelling option if you don't mind splurging. It's light enough to wear during the day and it doesn't feel like you have a thick layer of foundation on. Having a little SPF with it is a plus. At night, you can easily apply more to build up more coverage. The packaging is very compact, making it easy to carry. The downside is the price. I think it is very expensive for the amount of product. And to build a fuller coverage, a lot of product needs to be used. I don't think I'll buy it again if I run out.

Seems to be a little darker in the swatch. I wanted to try this too, but it was too expensive :p I wish they had a glass bottle instead.

I wanted to try this one out too!
Just (as always) my skin color wasn't available (the available colors are all too dark), but I love the finish of this foundation!

I've also heard some great stuff about this, but I haven't tried this one. I think my skin is probably too oily :( but good to hear you like it!

My friend got it for me but I actually don't like to use it for my entire face. It's a tad too light (mine is B10 but I am sure B20/30 would be better for me). I only use it on my t-zone because I like the texture (it's light and slightly mattify the skin with little coverage) but i need to blend it out with my other foundation to get a better overall color to match my foundation. I don't think I will buy it again either. Id rather spend a few more bucks to buy a "regular" chanel liquid foundation.

Hey girl.. I picked you as my Luxebox giveaway WINNER!! Check out my blog, or your email (I just sent you an email too).

I wanted to try this foundation, I went to The Bay at Eaton's hoping to get a sample and the girl told me they don't give samples.. whahaaat?!! I went home upset, and then heard from another fellow twittier that said girl was from fragrance and didn't know what she was talking about. I want to try this out before I buy it, it looks DARK for the lightest shade though.

I was all happy and ready to go purchase this until I read the part at the bottom LOL I think I'll just suck with my current TM since I don't have extra money to splurge for Chanel right now but hopefully one day I will! I just love how you say it gives minimum coverage, which is perfect!

Omg how's sims social on fb? I've been thinking of playing it but Im *somewhat* of a private person and would hate it if all my friends can see what my "sim" is doing LOL

I always hear such great things on the Chanel foundations but the price is the main thing that's stopping me from trying them. I like how you say this has buildable coverage. I don't like my foundations to be too heavy in feeling.

Thanks for your honest review, for the price, I would also expect full coverage.

i'm currently using this foundation~~just switched from the chanel mat lumiere one since i prefer the matte look...when i bought it i was just so excited to find something that doesn't look oily but has a dewey look...i definitely agree with you though! at first i thought it was a good deal - like $45~! after i bought i realized how little product it had and how much product you need to get coverage :( don't think i'll e repurchasing either :P
