Short Update & Domo Collection

I'm still preparing for my upcoming exam this Thursday :S and time is running tighter and tighter.... so I don't think I'll be able to post much this week. Hope you all will have a great week! And Happy Mother's Day :)

And I decided to try out my new nail polish - Sally Hansen in Apple. I think it looks redder in person than on photo. It looks more orangy in the picture.



I see so many people rocking their red nails that I have to try it out too! This is my first time wearing red nails, and I'm having a hard time accepting this bold colour :S Maybe it'll take a few days before I get used to it.

Haul from Lisa's Cosmetics Sale

Lisa's Cosmetic / Fragrances Inc Sale is a warehouse sale selling products up to 80% off. This event usually runs twice a year (before Christmas and around Mother's Day) in Markham, Ontario. Products include Elizabeth Arden, Smashbox, Red Earth, many men and ladies' fragrances, Dove, and so on.



Here is my haul (not too much stuff) as I try to limit my purchases, and because I go every half a year, so if I run out anything, I can just go the next time around :) I also bought a highlighting kit that's not in the picture, and an Elizabeth Arden eye treatment cream for my mom.

Every time, I make sure I pick up 1 or 2 Smashbox items since their retail price is a lot more expensive. I was contemplating if I want to buy another nude lipstick as I saw this frosty pink one... Since most of my lippies are nudes, I decided to go for this for something different! I wish they had a matte one though :S And I'm in love with the purple lip gloss.. too bad they only had it in the small version (4.5 ml)!

Woohoo I bought my first red nail polish! I decided to go a little away from my comfort zone (nude and pink polishes.. surprise surprise lol) I'm still deciding if I want to keep the orange one or give it to my sister's friend.

I always have several boxes of cleansing wipes in stock, but they never take off my make up completely (especially the eye area), so I also stocked up on 2 eye make-up removers (I already used one of them so it's not shown in the picture). I used to use this specific one back in high school, but one day it just disappeared, and eventually I forgot about it. Apparently, my mom threw it away because she thought I didn't use it :S Last night, I used it again and fell in love again :)


Ever since I moved home from my university residence, I've been struggling to find a good spot to take pictures. Nowhere seems to have enough space or light.. ahh the frustration! Anyway, hope you enjoyed my little haul :D

It's a miracle - Manuka Honey!

So as I said in my last post, I was breaking out these few days because of stress and due to that time of the month, and this huge deep under the skin pimple formed on my chin. I've had them several times before so I know how annoying they are and how long they can last for :S I tried applying a few different products and they had no use... until I came across this blog post that my friend, Jenny (skinniegenes), wrote about regarding Manuka Honey and acne!

Knowing the New Zealand brand, Comvita, as my uncle works for this company and has given us countless bottles of products whenever we visit Hong Kong, I knew instantly that there must be a jar of Manuka Honey in my house somewhere. I applied this thick dark brown sticky stuff right on top of my pimple for a whole day. Because it's extremely sticky and could potentially cause a major mess, I cut a small piece of white bandage and taped it above the honey. In the morning, I was so excited to find that the pimple (normally would take weeks to heal) already formed a white head! Now, the pimple is almost completely healed with minimal scarring.



I was so shocked at the result that I had to do some research to understand it. Apparently, the honey speeds up the healing process for fresh wounds. It creates moisture that allows new skin to grow much quicker than it would on its own. And moreover, it prevents infection as it destroys bacteria and repairs previously damaged skin.

You can even apply a honey mask all over your face. One simple way is to a directly put the honey on your skin. If you like, you can mix it with a bix of cinnamon, lemon juice and oatmeal. Wait for 20 to 30 minutes, then take off with warm water.

I was looking through the April 2010 issue of Elle Canada. There's a Black Label Barbie article inside, with a short interview with the semi-finalists of the little black dress design competition.


On a side note, I'm breaking out like crazy cause it's almost the time of the month and because of the stress from the upcoming exam :S How do you guys deal with this?
